Cherise Morris

Cherise graduated from Brown University with a degree in Africana Studies. During her time at Brown, she was the coordinator of Women’s Space in Prison for the Arts and Creative Expression, the Core Organizer at Students Against the Prison-Industrial Complex, a volunteer at Direct Action for Rights and Equality Now, and on the Advisory Board of the Fred Hampton Community Institute for Black Studies. Since graduation, she has served as a research assistant at the Brown University Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice and is now working with Truthout, an independent news nonprofit working to spark action by revealing systemic injustice and providing a platform for transformative ideas, through in-depth investigative reporting and critical analysis.
