Keyri Lopez-Godoy

Keyri is a junior at EMU working toward a degree in Elementary Education. She is the secretary of the Student Government Association and a member of the SGA’s Sanctuary Committee, focused on protecting the rights of international and undocumented students. Through the work of this committee, EMU now has their first official documentation of outlining the rights of these students and the institution’s commitments to their safety. She is also a conversation partner with the Intensive English Program, working with a student from Guinea-Bissau and a resident advisor. This summer she plans to be a camp counselor at Deerpark Camp in New York, a camp rooted in Christian faith, who tries to bring youth from the surrounding area closer to God, Christian faith, and spiritual awareness through hands-on experiences in nature, time in fellowship with other campers and staff, and through independent reflectio
